Long time racer & all around good guy, John Loper passed away over the weekend. Funeral is this Sat.. Now Tripp will have some company to bench race with. RIP Lil HossJohnny was a friend to every racer, whether he knew them or not.

The first time I met him, I was looking for some anglia spindle nuts and was told to go talk to him. Well, Mr. Loper, and I state that with the utmost respect, showed me his entire speed shop, his funny car operation, then we had a long conversation, all the while he had his beloved cigars. He treated me like we had been long lost friends and offered whatever he could to me, along with a handful of the needed nuts.

The man did more for local racers than anyone else that I know of. The race car may have been Lil Hoss, but Johnny was Big Boss. He will surely be missed.
