'Fried --- I don't mean to suggest there should be salary caps or limits, just would be interesting to see just really which teams spend how much money.
Force won it, did JFR spend more in the year than Team Shoe? Who knows? How would it be figured with all the hospitality etc., but just the same, back in the day Chi-Town Hustler won the title a few times and I'm very, very sure they were outspent by the competition. Kalitta's F/C might very well have spent more money that the cars that came in 5-10th as example, that's what I'm talking about.
Lucus T/F car spends the money, but not great results. It's impossible to know all the numbers, however it's food for thought if there's a direct link to bigger budget getting higher points. One thing, if a car goes out first round all the time, that actually costs a lot less on equipment... oh yeah, not alot of points adding up there huh? :p

I think JFR had more focus on FC and probably spent as much or more than DSR on FC. You would have to guess that between those 2 names they spent more than anybody else. They took the top 4 spots. It just takes away from things if every year you go to see the same few compete and keep hoping for somebody to knock them down a peg and it does not happen. And who will it be that you would feel good about? In Top Fuel what if Lucas won? It kills me when ESPN makes a big deal about him being a Team Owner at 22. Like it is because of his business smarts or skills? More like the lucky sperm club!

More of the story unfolds...
Sources indicate that the grand larceny charges filed against Wayne Dupuy by former employer Doug Herbert alleging the theft of parts have been dropped by the District Attorney of Lincolnton, NC., due to lack of evidence. Torco's CompetitionPlus.com is in the process of contacting the DA's office for confirmation or denial. We'll post more details on this story as they become available.

Maybe Wayne can get this chapter behind him and get his career back on track now!

Hey, good job. I was wondering what happened. I had heard over a month ago charges were dropped but I couldn't confirm it.
I would also like to know when they were dropped if that proves to be the case.

Looked like Cruz did pretty well in Pomona. Maybe Wayne can give him a good car this season.

What's wrong with Advance Auto? Not trying to start something, just curious.

[QUOTE=nitrobrainfried] Back to the topic. How do you think Cruz will do? I'll really take a risk and say that Cruz will DNQ at least 3 events by the half way mark and also miss the Top 10 or barely catch the high side again.
There is one DNQ not to mention alot of parts. Wayne better get some help. Won't need a tooth pick this week.

Looks like Cruz better order some extra fire suits and car bodies too.

After not qualifying at last weeks IHRA S.A. race and not doing particularly well in his first few NHRA races, what's the odds on this weekends results for the Dupuy tuned Pedregon?

That sound you heard was me eating my words as I believe Saturday will be a wash, thus Cruz shall be #1.

I wouldn't beat yourself up to bad. Did you read the article on NHRA where Cruz said Wayne is to use Dickie's tune up going forward? He basically said we are a 2 car team and one car is running good and the other like crap so we will use the tune up that is working on both. Now all Dupuy has to do is copy it and keep his tooth pick in his pocket.

That is 2 DNQ's after only 6 events and at the bottom of the Top 10 only because of unfortunate circumstances at JFR and because he has had help from Dickie.
