That the "DON" was instrumental in getting the old and much better NM shut down but since then (Over two months time) he has had a total of 4 posts on the new NM...
But he already has three posts on the new and Improved Comp Plus forum???
Now all we need is to get good old Jannard over here and we can have a big pow wow...
And I'm sure all the pro racers will be sure to follow with my good buddy Capps leading the way...

Do you think it was Don or Jannard that prompted the change @ Mater? I don't think Don cares too much about us keyboard crewchiefs. If you noticed Jannard burned up the new Mater with posts, kinda like a cheerleader and now rarely posts. What I really like about Mater now is,all of the Pro's that post there giving all of that inside info we all need.

It still amazes me that an owner of a major corporation (and one of the richest men/women in the world) would allow some idiot like Pat McGill get the best of him/her. That whole deal reminded me of grammar school when the class narc ratted me out for hitting on his girlfriend.

Somethings don't surprise me anymore... This being one of them...
The way that NM is being run now though is something that does surprise me... They have pretty much turned that place into romper room for Drag Racing...
Jerrod has always been very cool to me over the years, so I know that it isn't him that made up these rules... It definitely came from above and that above is the person that Pat referenced above...
This dude is on his high horse and has all these Drag Racing fans that just eat up the BS that NHRA and the Driver's publicists push out, eating out of his hands...
I see that some of the fans are wising up to the "DON"... Took you all way to long...

I have to post about a person named Jim Jannard... and his attitude vs Shoe
Jim is a TRUE drag racing fan while shoe i think is more of a "Making Money" type of person
Jim Jannard is in drag racing because he loves it and i can remember running promod and he was a true fan with money that sponsered one driver and he did it because he loved drag racing and im pretty sure nothing has changed rather then the corporate image.
the sad thing to me is that drag racing has evolved into the monster it is today with out reguard for what the true meaning of the feeling of dragracing was before the corporate whores and television numbers took over
Oakley sponsered a grass roots car back when it was actually grass roots racing.
I can remember many a times when we all sat back watching the hillbilly drag racing league all the while a BILLINONAIRE sat amongst us. I was in awe at the time many times because of his love for drag racing . He wasnt in it for the exposure or for the brand ..no jim actually loved it and i think to this day he still does.
I also think the releationship that scotty and himself had was also strained due to the corporate image and what it needed to be at the level that scotty and himself became.
10-15 years ago promod was as hillibilly as it was and to me that was the about the most fun i can say people ever had at a drg race.
And if anyone ran pro or even sportsman i bet they can chime in as well stating how it was actually fun going to a national even ..IHRA or NHRA.. and actually enjoying themselves
I can remember many of nights waking up on my golf cart :)
I can also remember being able to run the juice on your golf carts as well BUT NOW OMFG can you imagine actually trying to have a good time at a corporate event and then having security tell you to be in the trailer and not moving around after 9pm
Sorry not for me ill cherish the time i spent on tour and just keep fishing...and then watching corporate tv take over..
About 10 or so years ago at memphis it was funny as hell to see tony schumacher driving a alky car and being able to walk up to him and say hi rather then saying hi to a walking billboard
But hey i guess everything has to evolve but drag racing and some people have lost the wholesome nature drag racing used to be....

Man don't shock me like that!!! At first I thought it was Big Daddy!
How many of you East Coast guys remember E Town back in the 70's when there was an oil down and it was a 30 min clean up... the spectator side would yell "The Other Side Sucks" and the Pit side would yell back "Cheep Seats"! Then during late qualifying rounds on Fri 1/2 the spectators were drunk.. and every time a good looking girl would walk by the stands the crowed would chant.."Show Us Your Tits" I'll never forget when one really HOT.. VERY HOT Chic DID !! she pulled up her T shirt... and did a 360 spin right in front of section D on the Pit side...
Shesssss you would have thought Ashley Force was naked... the people went TOTALLY WILD and she got a standing ovation every time she got up.... :D
Of course we cant forget the Streakers who ran across the track at the 1/8 mile with no pants or shirt.. with some fat security guy trying to catch him... :)
Or the Drunk girl who was (can I say it) being orally friendly to all the guys seated near her... her blood alcohol level had to be 90% :D Once again security hot her outta there .. there must have been 50 guys in line....
But as I say that was back in the late 60's or early 70's We did have fun!!

I guess you've never bought a Racer's shirt or hat then right? I have no problem supporting racers where $$$ is concerned, some teams wouldn't be out there had it not been for souvenior sales. If I see a Cool looking Shirt or hat I'm gonna buy it, if that makes me a Fanboy than life's a Bitch!
