Are the Las Vegas casinos still going to take bets on the NHRA race now that they know the races can and will be fixed according to the team owners wishes? With Vegas2 being the next to last race in the countdown I'm sure there will be plenty of temptation to go in the tank.
Generally the gaming industry tries to stay far away from sports where there is even a hint of the outcome being manipulated.

I would say yes, they do it more for the entertainment value to the fans that come for the races. Try to find a place that takes bets on NHRA when the race is not in town. Besides it's a lot harder to influence who wins an event than it is to influence who gets into a countdown.

Actually horse racing at the highest levels has many controls to try and eliminate fixing races. They DQ horses all the time. Had an obvious dive taken place, as with Force, they would have tossed him and his opponent instantly. That's what the inquiry sign you see flashing on the tote board is all about.
Do some things get by? Sure especially at the out of the way tracks but compared to drag racing it is like night and day.

Maybe not so hard if you own 25% of the cars.
They could take bets on teams instead of drivers.
