September 9 marked the 29th anniversery of the loss of drag racing super showman, Jungle Jim Liberman.
Mark Hovsepian of Header Flames, posted Berserko Bob's tribute to his friend on the old Nitronics board. He just came across the article and it has been reposted on his www.headerflames.com

Jackie--Thanks for the link (Thanks to Bobby Bennett for allowing the link to another site)---It was OUTSTANDING the the first time and still packs a punch.
Everyone should be so fortunate as to have a friend like Bobby Doerrer.
I was part of the show at Union Grove the following year on the first anniversary of JJ's death and the track announcer called for a minute of silence before the firing of the first two Nitro Funny Cars----How often do you see that happen?
Jungle was from a drag racing time you will never see again and if you didn't see it you missed the best.
Thanks again--Frank

I could not agree more Frank. I am so happy to have had 'my' time in racing, during those wonderful years.
It's hard to believe that it's been 29 years since J J left us. Look for an updated tribute with more pictures next year for the 30th anniversery, from Bobby D.
