1:8 scale '69 camaro pro mod (mike hill's car)
as most of you have figured out i have some friends at precision chassis in pottstown, pa. they recently completed mike hill's '69 camaro pro mod. i'm going to try to reproduce this car in 1:8 scale as to the best of my abilities. to start with there are no '69 camaro bodies available in 1:8 scale to even try to modify into the cynergy body that is on mike's car. so, i contacted a 3-d artist in brazil and with measuring tape in hand i got the basic dimensions and he proceeded to work up a 3-d drawing of a close proximity to but, not exactly like the cynergy body. next the drawing was sent to a company called TDR. tim at TDR worked the drawing so a 3-d printed body could be made. here are a few of the 3-d renderings from dan palatnik (the 3-d artist)

here is the 3-d printed body.

here are a few more of the body.

one with my hand in there, for a size reference.

a little about the car. the camaro has a 5.20 bore space gene fulton motor in it with a bruno and a lenco 2 speed. front struts and a 4 link rear suspension coupled with a fabricated ford 9" rear. lots of titanium and carbon fiber everywhere.

so, i started by fabricating a ford 9" floater rear in brass.

here is some more of the rear.

here the center section of the ford rear.

next came the lenco and the bruno torque converter drive.

shift pod.

next i had to machine a set of 4 braswell 2 barrel carbs from aluminum just 'cause they're so cool looking. they're not quite finished yet but i think you'll get a kick out of them.

now we get to the fun part. i started on the fulton power plant. the block is a dart billet piece so that's where i started.

next a jesel belt drive and an ATI damper with an MSD crank trigger.

a moroso 2 piece oil pan finishes the bottom end.

please remember almost everything you see here is hand machined by me.

next came the heads and the valve covers.

here's the finished block and heads.

and the finished oil pan.

hope you enjoy!!
any questions, just ask.

Holy cow how much does it cost to have a 3D drawing done?.. i cna take those to make molds for the r/c drag cars.. or at least a version that can be modded to make some.... great work..very cooll...
