Default top fuel 1/8th mile?

Why did top fuel only run 1/8th mile at Rockingham?

Unsafe track conditions due to 4 days of rain, and all categories ran 1/8th mile, not just top fuel

I know that IHRA is in the grave BUT I feel that they should have postponed it to another weekend. They race 1/8th mile in North Carolina & Virginia EVERY WEEKEND whether the track is a 1/4mile or 1/8th mile.
Plus I heard from a local racer that the track temp was too cold in rockingham......another reason WHY I believe The ShakeDown @ Etown will be an ALL 1/8th mile race this year.

It’s pretty easy to say the race should have been postponed in hindsight, but it’s already cold and coming into the wet time of year in the South East so what do you do? Then the problem was with all of the Sportsman guys that had come in from all across the country for the TOC how do you tell them to just come back? Heck they were mentioning that two sportsman teams towed in from Edmonton! I think finishing the year someplace warmer would be wise. You would have to think that Richmond is going to be just as wet and cold in 2010.

The new Dallas track might be a good choice weather wise.
