Default Thanks to GSA and NHRA

Thank you so much for keeping legal, quarter mile Pro Mod racing alive. I know its like the IHRA PS deal, with the racers (Burgess) funding the series, but I am glad we will get to continue to see the class as I have grown to love it - blown versus nitrous (and turbo), nostalgia versus new body styles and quarter mile (though I don't have as much as a problem with eighth mile as some). I'm glad to see the NHRA finally recognize the class as a pro class and look forward to the TV coverage.

Nice to see the NHRA made a good move with the new Pro Mods. Now there is no need to watch the IHRA. I hope the class adds more dates.

What did I tell yall!!!!!!!......I said in previous post that NHRA would NOT let ProMod die & that they knew HOW AWESOME a class they were.I'm SUPER HAPPY because I always said that the NHRA ProMods were the BEST since the IHRA is dead & the ADRL ONLY runs 1/8th mile ( HALFTRACK ).Thanks to Roger , GSA & The NHRA......The ONLY thing that could make NHRA better is to go back 1/4mile for the Nitro classes & make SuperStock HEMI an official class......I would attend like 4 NHRA National events a year & forget the rest of the so called dragracing that goes on throughout the year.

So... NHRA pro mods are back to where they were about 5 years ago... Well, except for the 500 dollar entry fee they have now...

Good for them, but im still not going to attend any NHRA events like I did in the past. Its just not the same NHRA with 1000' Nitro Racing. Pro Mods will still be heavly overshadowed by Nitro and Pro Stocks.

Ike , I agree that ProMod maybe overlooked or recieve more attention by NHRA & I also agree that I prefer 1320ft for ALL classes including NITRO BUT STILL.....BUT STILL ....ITS the BEST SHOW in DragRacing, you say you prefer 1/4mile racing yourself.....SO what options do you have.....IHRA?....its OVER......ADRL?.....Its ALL 1/8th mile 660ft NOT EVEN 1000ft racing.

The NHRA ONLY runs 2 classes 1000ft & of course we all know its the 2 NITRO classes.....ALL others run 1/4mile......Though I agree DragRacing aint what it use to be....NHRA is clearly in the forefront with the inception of ProMod......Lets face it even The ShakeDown is suppose to go ALL 1/8th mile in another year or 2.

NHRA ALL the way & just as I imagined when everybody was slamming NHRA...I knew that these people are human & they LOVE ProMod BUT the NHRA was just letting them foot the bill since they were doing it.Now the NHRA has made them an official class SO as far as I'm concerned it boils down to whether you want to see ProMods stretchout FULL throttle & run the complete 1/4mile in NHRA competition or go watch them compete HALFTRACK in ADRL competition.

The ball is clearly in our hands as spectators.....I will go travel 6 to 7 hours to Etown to watch an NHRA National event with ProMod & spend a couple hundred dollars rather than go 1 hour & 30 minutes to VMP & see the ADRL run HALFTRACK for FREE.

Frank I prefer 1/4 racing in Pro Mod and I can get that @ MIR, VMP, and Maple Grove with the north east outlaw pro mods. I just cant justify paying 60 bucks to enter a drag race when the top class (Nitro Cars) don't even run the full lenght of the track (1/4) at NHRA. To me NHRA dont give you the value of the ticket as they used to, Loved going to Maple Grove but no more. I just stay home and watch local racing on the 1/4, or just watch it on TV

I understand your opinion & respect it.....I wish the tickets were cheaper myself BUT I LOVE 1/4mile racing especially for these fast cars & I hope NHRA returns 1/4mile for TopFuel & Nitro Funnycar.

However without dissing the GREAT NEOPM association BUT frankly they are small in number compared to an NHRA National event.....I mean I will definately go to 2 of there races in 2010 since Royce Miller SCREWED UP the Frantic 8 class @ MIR...But NHRA will give you the BEST in NITRO , the BEST in 500ci ProStock with ever increasing technology & innovation , The BEST ProMods running ALL 1/4mile & the BEST sportsman racers in dragracing.

The stiff ticket prices are worth it to me because in todays society people are spending on things they love whether its NFL , NBA . MLB ,Nascar, 5 star vacations , rock concerts or whatever. With ALL do respect THE NHRA or any dragracing does not look good on TV so I can never get a fix from watching it on TV.

Fair enough post, but im not still convinced to go to a NHRA event. VMP lost their race. Maple Grove (which is my favorate track behind MIR) don't have Pro Mods. Etown has a bunch of clowns and buttholes that work there so I stay away from that. I am perfectly fine with the local races. Did you know North east outlaw association has over 50 members and cars (some) that can run under 5.90's and I only have to pay 20 bucks to see a good show. MIR does a great job with their events. I may attend the Maple Grove event (NHRA) next year only because I havn't been there in a while and I can stay at one of my familys houses that is only 5 mins from the track and don't have to pay for a hotel room. NHRA events are just too expensive to attenend for the value they give you IMO.

IKE you are right , The NEOPM club has 50 members BUT I followed them on the net last year & ALOT of there races were like the 1/8th mile ProMod clubs in the south.....some were very poorly attended despite having such a large club.

Anyhow I'm still a fan & I have my HD camcorder ready for next year & plan to shoot some footage for the NEOPM club......HEY! they are probably the ONLY ALL 1/4mile ProMod club outside of NHRA & IHRA competition.......I really appreciate these guys & thank them for keeping it ALL 1/4mile....I will surely support these guys next year & look forward to seeing low 6 second et's & hopefully some 5 second passes in this club.

THE NorthEastOutlawProMod ASSOC. is the REALDEAL.
