Is NHRA following medical protocols for concussions? I'm going to check tomorrow at race.

Yes. They showed him being escorted to the Aid car for evaluation protocol.

A blast makes your ears ring. Its the chassis bouncing side to side after the body/chutes dragged it straight up in the air that is loopy-inducing IMO. I always hate to see that helmet ping-ponging inside the cage. Not good ever.

He was knocked out cold until well after the car had stopped. No movement whatsoever. Never came close to the brake handle. That could’ve been a lot worse.

Yes the NHRA does have a concussion protocol, but the way their coverage tip toed around the subject I wouldn’t be surprised if they are trying to protect their cash cow. Wheel him out on stage on a cart f you have to kind of thing...

For those questioning protocal, John went to the Pomoma hospital after qualifying. I’m sure that is one of the things they looked at. Ashley tweeted a picture of them going in.

Read about it here including more comment from him on his driving trials:

http://competitionplus.com/drag-raci...-hospital-trip

"John Force underwent a CT scan of his head, neck, chest, and abdomen and was completely cleared and released from the hospital in less than two hours following his car-destroying engine explosion during Friday qualifying."

By the way he kept the car strainght it appears to be he wasn't knocked out. And there was no need for immediate hard breaking. In fact the further he made it to the end of the track, the sooner the Safari could get to him.
