I realize that. What I was referring to was my suggestion..... What I should have said was : The crew chiefs and drivers would discover the balance necessary to succeed under this proposed new format.

I don't think it's even a proposed new format.

I can see his point... this year.

After Indy, him and Tanner ended up tied for #2. If it weren't for Tanner, then the next one down and the next one up were almost 200 points away. Not so sure what #1 Bo or #4 Drew has to say about it. They had enough points gap to give it a go as well as the others with a big points gap or out of the countdown completely.

Maybe the first part of what he said had something to do with it: "Nobody (NHRA) asked anything. They just dropped it on us."

he was the last down the trackin the final Q session with the #1 spot locked up. He could have thrown the fans a smokey bone then.

Except he needed the session points to try and get ahead in the final regular season standings.

what he ^ said - I think it will not continue through the countdown. Points are more important than ever now.

You'll never get the smokey bone ! That's the beauty of GA ! He's the mayor of Pro Stockville , nothing personal it's all about the business.
