Default Pappa John's

Does Papa John's love drag racing as much as Papa John did? Are the NHRA and DSR going to be losing another sponsor? Or is Leah providing a good enough ROI for the brass to keep the relationship going?? I'm guessing we won't be seeing him racing his Camaro at National events any longer...

“Colonel Sanders called blacks n------,” Schnatter said, referring to Kentucky Fried Chicken founder Harland Sanders, according to the Forbes report.
He also reportedly complained that Sanders never faced public backlash for using the slur.

My thoughts as an black guy- African American or whatever

I do not think that he meant anything derogatory when he said this. But at the same time it can be taken that way by someone else. With his relationship with DSR and Antron I cant see him doing this and we do not know the ENTIRE conversation that lead him to say this

I didn't want to get into the political part of this story. I do think it is silly also. I wanted to stick to the fact that this could impact the NHRA and DSR in a big way if John was the only one in the corporation that saw value in drag racing. I hope it's not a situation like C&J Energy when Comstock passed... I'm hoping the corporation is liking what Leah is doing and will stay involved. She is everywhere!

DSR should keep the Mopar wrap on for Denver, then Jeb Allen's sponsored wrap will be on in Sonoma, hopefully by the first of August things will cool off.

Sadly the political part is the crux. I would think that the board would look at the overall effect that NHRA and Leah provide, but at the same time and thinking like a business person, will the board be scared off by potential backlash and run away?

One would think that this MORON would've learned by now to keep his mouth shut! He already cost himself his CEO position and the company their NFL partnership. Lets hope it doesn't cost this sponsorship, their shares already up 5% since the goof stepped down.

Tough week for DSR. Some words should never be used and he should have been smart enough to know that. Hate to see him to have to leave a business he's put his heart and soul into for so many years over a stupid comment.

The founder of Papa John's resigned from his position as chairman of the pizza chain's board of directors, just hours after he apologized for using a racial slur during a company conference call earlier this year.

A company call- sounds as if someone leaked this and knew what would happen,
