"Pedregon took delivery of the chassis and once they had it in the shop, realized there was a major issue. All of the Schumacher Funny Car bodies are Dodge Chargers, and of course, Pedregon runs Toyota."

Seems odd that nobody checked that beforehand??

So you peel off the decals and change the brand. Too easy!

Not even close. And the Dodge looks far more like a production Charger than the Yoda looks like a production Celica or whatever it's supposed to be.

Isn't it that the funny car cage doesn't match up to the location of the "greenhouse" (roof/windows) of the Toyota body and the other bars might be too high or wide at certain points on the Charger chassis to fit inside the Toyota body?

To bring it closer to home for those that are "scale impaired": It would be like trying to put a Burger King Whooper in a Big Mac box.

It blows me away that this happened. In my oppinion, both the buyer and builder had an equal obligation to be certain the body would fit. The conversation should have started with "why don't you bring a body over here to make sure everything aligns right". I can assure you, this would have never happened at McKinney's shop. Speaking of Murf, all these in-house chassis operations have had to put a hurt on his business.

Maybe he should have called Kalitta instead, their FCs are "Camrys".

Sounds like not only the fans, but the funny car owners themselves think all you do is change the decals.

Yeah, but Kalitta's shop isn't right around the corner from C Ped's like Schumacher's is so I could see the appeal of that.
