Default Thoughts/Memories of "Mr. Chevrolet" Dick Harrell

Let's hear some of your thoughts or memories of "Mr. Chevrolet" Dick Harrell.

What strip did you see this fine racer run?

What year?

Did ya see the Injected Door car or the Supercharged Camaro with doors in 67?

See the flip top rides in 68 and beyond?

This sure was one great racer that made a giant impact in our sport and was taken from us way to soon.

This past weekend at Mo-Kan Dragway:

"Together for the first time at the track in 44 years - 1969 Dick Harrell Camaro funny & 1968 Jim Kirby/Dick Harrell Camaro team funny car."

When they found it, it needed a little tlc:

Apparently, even the Korean War didn't stop him from working on engines...

I know WHERE I first saw Dickie Harrell, just not sure which car he was running. It was at Beeline Dragway in Phoenix,AZ and it was an early Camaro, but not sure if it was injected or supersharged already. He always had one of the coolest paint jobs of any funny car from that era.

He also has to have one of the coolest tombstones of any drag racer, or any racer for that matter:

That picture of those 2 AA/FCs were way to sweet, thanks for that. I have a very sweet 11x14 B&W by Jere Alhadeff of Harrell just shortly after adding the huffer at the County, loved his rides.
