Its a big event. Big enough to have teams trek cross country to make it. It is also a place where some of the left coast teams might be leaving off their shortened schedules. I like the local guys being able to enter these events with a decent chance of playing sunday.

The Greek is hardcore.

He has a new car this year, with the new NHRA spec. At his age, he could of just said the heck with it and run IHRA and match races, but he is going all out. I hope he has a blast!

I guess we would call him a left coast team that originally was reported to have planned on a short schedule. I dont know what his deal with the Tequila man included, but he isnt on the list and neither is Jim Head, but those are both in the funny car ranks, not top fuel where the greek runs.

When you count massey as a regular with snake racing, you have 8 cars including doug kalitta that are the regulars on tour. If Doug starts to sit out, then its 7. Raise the second lucas car and the rest are all part timers.

I've read that some of the pro stock and pro mod guys called State Capitol Dragway "tricky". If the 3000 hp cars were having trouble getting A to B, I can't imagine how much fun the 8000 hp fuelers were having.
