I understand the temptation, but let's steer the conversation away from one individual and back to the topic please.

1 liter, cfm max on throttle body inlet size, 4 valves per, DOHC allowed, stock case/jug/head mods allowed, one minimum weight with driver for all, spec race gas........ Spec turbo..... maybe...

That was a case where they quit the series because they had very little if any success.

In roadracing V-twins get a displacement advantage. The in-line 4's that the Japanese bikes run are 1000cc while the V-twin Ducati runs an 1198. The reasoning being that physics dictates that an engine with more cylinders has the potential to make more horsepower. So giving V-twins a displacement advantage is fine in my book.

And V-twins need a bigger a throttle body for an equal displacement engine because twice as much air needs to pass through one since 1/2 the displacement is in one cylinder instead of two. So, again, I'm fine with V-twins running bigger throttle bodies.

But I hear what you are saying...just level the playing field a little. Please.

Now, what happens if Ducati and I get together and show up next year with a 160CID Duck running a 4-valve, OHC engine? And I'm willing to make every piece available to anyone? Is NHRA willing to go through the certification process, or are they going to broom me out the door right off the bat?

What if Hector Arana shows up next year with a 4-valve OHC Buell, with parts available for everyone? NHRA gonna let it run? Why not? Harley can run a 4 valve, OHC engine......

When NHRA says yes, THEN we can get back to who works the hardest. What's going on now is akin to Roger Goodell telling the NFL that starting in 2013, anyone lining up against the Packers will only be allowed 10 men on the field, and none of them can weigh over 275.

That article indicates the Suzukis may be getting a break. I wouldn't think the Harleys would be penalized by themselves, being as they're only averaging .002 quicker than the Buells, and I assume that means the two Arana Buells. I wasn't aware it was that close.

In fairness to Krawiec and Hines, they absolutely are more consistent than the Aranas. I can think of more than one race the Aranas simply gave away. Not that Hector doesn't work hard; I'm sure he does.
