Intellicast.com for Gainesville, FL has Fri and Sat at 10% chance of rain with Sunday at 20%.
I've found intellicast typically very accurate for Florida. Hope they are right this time.

One neat thing about Florida rain is that we are a "shower" state. When I lived up north if it rained, it rained for hours if not all day. Down here in Florida a 20% chance of rain seems to mean that just 20% of the state will get wet for a little while and when the pavement dries you go back to racing.

I play'd a lot of golf in July when we knew it was going to rain every day. We would just get off the course for the 10-20 minutes and let the daily showers go by and then go back and finish our round.

It's the same at the race track. It "might" rain for 10-20 minutes and they dry the track for the next 40 and then finish out the days racing. The bad days are when we get that 5 minute shower over the track... 3 different times. It only rained for 15 minutes total but the track needed to be dried 3 times! Our serious monsoon-rain season is from July through most of September.

My F/S odds:

Turk 2/1
Welch 3/1
Holbrook 6/1
Barton 6/1
Watson 12/1

Only 15 AFC and still no Lambardo. 20 Nitro Harleys should make for interesting qualifying for a 8 bike field. Will not be able to see any live TD & TS qualifying on all access. How hard woiuld it be to set up stationary cameras on Thur like MMTV or Speed Video?

Will Randy Meyer figure out his dragsters or have another offf weekend? How will Troy Coughlin Jr look?

Did NHRA pay tow money to a couple of TF teams to get to a 16 car field?

35 PM cars. Qualifying will be very exciting. Watch out for Jose Gonzalez and Carl Stevens Jr.

Should be a great race.

Looking forward to factory stock showdown which in my opinion is the future of pro stock if it were to continue and of course the pro mod opener with 35 cars qualifying will be brutal with some big names heading home early.

Two surprise entries in funny car, Welcome back Cory Lee....guessing he is driving a 2nd Worsham car this weekend and also very surprised to see Gary Densham entered....it has his car but I am surprised he would make that far of a tow.....is he in one of the East coast cars like Paul Smith?

HEMI:

Rich McPhillips was driving the yellow Jegs.com AFD at the Baby Gators last weekend. I believe Jegs teamed up with McPhillips this year.

Gary is driving his own car this weekend. His hauler pulled into the pits at the same time I was parking. I think he is here to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame.
