Do I have to stop wearing my Benny the bomb t shirt now?

So glad they are keeping those noses strapped down on the funny cars to keep these explosions so spectacular!

He we are, it's Sunday raceday. These Gators have been really unpredictable, I find that interesting, most all of the teams have had some issues, making picking a winner tough, good again. Let us hope that the Kaboom factor takes the day off. Would rather have smoky runs, shut offs versus fire and boomers.

Okay experts:What is cauing the body busing FC explosions this year?

To me it seems like the majority of time it's when cylinders have dropped. In PHX, Force dropped cylinders around 330 feet. As we all know cylinders have dropped forever, but this year it appears to be catastrophic. Could it be lower revs this year matched up when the cylinders drop?

Iím hearing rumors of thoughts that inferior material is being supplied. The aluminum billets are defective, main caps are failing, possibly rods too. Just rumors right now...

I'm no expert but the trend I have seen in nearly every one of them is the puffs of dropped cylinders and then BOOM! I don't know if it is because the overload from the dead cylinders are creating such a backpressure or because of all that fuel being compressed in it or what. It also seems to be occuring around the same area on the track in the last instances of Hight, Hagan, Force, and Force. Is this due to the adjusted rev limiter timer on the Funny Cars kicking in sooner and causing cylinders to drop and the bombs to go off? Just thinking out loud.

Note that none of those teams use TFX blocks.

I just keep looking for the burst panels on these things, and this picture you definitely cant locate it. Every slo motion video I watched the fire came up thru the sides of the blower opening and then everything exploded into pieces.
