I've never been to one of their events but have been meaning to get to one... do they actually run nitro?

Staying within the 7 second range (probably insurance regs) and with a happy tune up, these teams can probaly run a whole season on one set of rods and pistons. A good crank (Bryant) could last at least 3 seaons.

I went to one of their 4 car shows a few years ago and really enjoyed it! It only cost $10 to get in. There was a Barracuda, Vega, Pinto, and 68 Camaro funny car running and they put on a great show. The cars were blown alcohol. These cars had immaculate paint jobs as well. Very good show for the money.

The Funny Car Nationals will be at Keystone Raceway near Pittsburgh July 14.

It's the largest gathering of these cars in the country, there will be over 30 of them there, from all over the country. And, the cost is something like $25.

Last year they put on a terrific, terrific program. The racing was close, there were no oildowns.....the place was packed. Lots of kids around, lots of kids. And, the drivers were wonderful in their interaction with them. Check it out if you have a mind.

What else did they have to fill the time with?

The track that I saw them at had their regular bracket program on at the same time. It's similar to the old UDRA shows that are incorporated into the regular show.
