Hometown event. No flying, driving, or hotels. Dad is coming this year.

Going to be cold for PHX.
FRI: 58
SAT: 60
SUN: 67
Maybe NHRA should move the pro show to noon and 3 instead of the schedule 1:30 and 4:30. The track is going to get really cold for the 4:30 session. They did this last year at Atlanta.

Could be really fast and/or a lot of shake. Testing earlier this month the temps were in the high 70s to low 80s.

Full field for the pros. I wish they would give us alcohol and comp back.

Looks like a couple teams didn't want to deal with entering California with race trailers. BME is a prime example.

Also my home race and my favorite weekend of the year. Great to catch up with everyone and hang out with my sister for the weekend.

The weather gods have smiled on the race again this year. In what has been a very warm and dry winter I was figuring it would be either warm or wet for the nationals and I am glad I am wrong on both ends. I have been going since 2007 and this might be the coldest race here (without rain) that I can remember, 07 was pretty cold on Friday and that's the year Hight went 4.63.

I have been spoiled the last few years in the different races I've been to see the record books get beat up but I am hoping (expecting almost) to see more records. When Leah ran 334 in testing earlier this month I think it was in the low 70's when she ran in the morning and it will be 10-15 degrees colder.

The only concern is that if the schedule gets pushed back in the morning because it may be too cold and dewy to run Sportsman cars because overnight lows are expected to be in the mid 30s and probably won't break into the 40s until 9 or so. If that happens it may push the schedule back late enough that the track will be too cold for the fuel cars.

Whatever happens it should be a fun and hopefully memorable weekend.

That sun does wonders for track temp here in Arizona boys...

As long as the sun is shining, which is what is "forecasted" for the weekend, the track temp shouldn't be an issue. I'd be concerned about Friday perhaps, but as long as it doesn't "precipitate" - it'll be cool, dry, lightning quick air.

Courtney's 3.80 run last year in testing and Leah's moon shot in testing last year was early AM, about 55 degrees, and sunshine.

I'll be at work all weekend, about 1 mile from the track...so no races for me this year...

I imagine the pucker factor will be high Q2 for the pro stock drivers with temps in the mid 50s and side winds between 20-30mph and 40mph wind gusts expected...

As figured they pushed Stock back about a half hour to let the track warm up...air is killer right now....as about half hour ago DA is right at sea level with 20 water grains
