More a commentary on IHRA than the classes....look where IHRA is without them and where they are without IHRA...factor in the ADRL and the various Outlaw circuits and you could argue that Pro Mod is the most popular class of all. If anything, NHRA is screwing up their end of it.

Question Pro Mod to Pros???

Perhaps what will happen if tough times continue for drag racing is that Top Fuel will be dropped with Funny being the survivor in nitro??. NHRA could end up PROMODING Pro Mod to a professional along with the existing Pro Stock and Bike classes??

Oh for the good old days, yes I loved the 50 Pro Stocks trying to qualify for 16 spots, Mountain Motor IHRA Pro Stock racing was awesome, then the Pro Mod evolution. They were all great and I miss them too, unfortunately when two TF Dragsters will draw 15,000 people to E-Town on a Wednesday night and a Pro Stock race doesn't draw 1500 then it is clear why the focus is on "nitro" it's just money. The big Pro Stock and door slammer races of the 70's are ancient history.
I miss Frankie, Dick, Ray, Wally, Wayne, Snorkel, Rick, Shelby, Butch, Don, Bob Bob, Scott, "the Zuel Master" and all the rest of the early Pro Stock greats too.
But they have gone the way of the 331 and the furnace brazed Cleveland blocks.

Pretty sure if Top fuel gets dropped so does Powerades sponsorship and drag racing would go away larry. You see how one guy saying he wont pay for it anymore is gonna kill a pro mod class. You seriously think powerade will sponsor a door slammer schedule?

Do you have any dates and statistics to back up that statement, or is that only in your dreams...
I've been burning Nitro since 1963 and have raced throughout the US and a few other countries,
during that time I've have never seen Pro-Stocks get paid the same amount as Nitro cars...

As long as Top Fuel and Funny Car are on the ticket to bring them in.
