They have already bad mouthed the NHRA and we all know that is a no-no. Said NHRA takes too much of the pie on a national event. I don't think a national will return anytime soon. A bunch of no-prep type or diesel drags or PDRA will fill the bill from now on IF this report has legs.................

That's the operative phrase here.

Notice there is no mention of a request for comment from the Napps.

....the difference between 'blogging' and reporting...

People who print **** like this really piss me off...

These guys are the same source who said Troy Jr was "poised" to drive a 4th DSR Top Fuel Dragster about a month before the season began...

The Diesel Nationals was their cash cow, not the NHRA national event like so many people think.

Because they pulled it, which isn't the first time such a thing has happened.

Retracted: Drag Racing likely returning to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park
Posted on May 3, 2018 1:20 pm EDT
By Anthony Caruso III | Publisher

We are retracting a story called “Drag Racing likely returning to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park” posted on May 3rd, 2018. We have been asked by track owner Alex Napp to remove the post.

Despite public record information, and numerous sources telling us this, along with town administrators, we are removing the information. This way, there would be no bad relationship between the track and The Capital Sports Report moving forward.

This whole situation doesn't pass the sniff test . I live in N.J. and the reason 20 years ago it was reportedly in trouble was the neighborhood closed in on the facility . This place with its so called close proximity to corporate America in NYC importance , was all BS and over rated . NHRA & the NYC market ? All BS . This facility needed a major renovation, looked ok on TV but in person , not so good . What should of happened was the NHRA should have leased it or the Family should have sold out to someone like Bruton Smith . Word on the street here is zoning issues seemed to have put a monkey wrench in the 1/4 mile junkyard plan . That's why the reopening rumors are flying . I was a customer and a racer and I really miss this place .
