I go to the Norwalk National event every year, and I stay at the Red Roof Inn in Elyria. It is highly rated on TripAdvisor, the rates are very reasonable, and it is only about 30 minutes to the track (basically all highway I-90).

There's tons of hotels just up the road in Sandusky, but the problem is it's a very popular resort area. You might want to look into Huron, OH. too.
Ok Hemi.. I've not spent that much time in Ohio, Penn or Michigan so you've got me stumped.
What's the "mistake by the lake"?
DC is next to the ocean...

Cleveland. I'm not sure where that nickname came from. I do know there was a lot of bantering going on between Cleveland and Detroit before the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame was built as Detroit was posturing to get it built there so I suppose it could have been then (Detroit better deserved it IMO). Or it could have been folks in Pittsburgh that came up with it considering the Steelers/Browns rivalry.

Sports writers and fans here in the east call Cleveland Browns the mistake on the lake. Got it. I know I hear it all the time

Wow! They're even grinding it! I'm impressed. Too bad we won't know it's full potential with NHRA's latest prep standards.

It is typical of Bill Bader because he doesn't do anything half way.
