Has something changed? Because the last I remember was that every car in the cup series was identical. They all were running the same NASCAR-spec chassis and all the bodies fit the same template. The only differences were side windows and the "grill" decal.

And now the sticker that says "Mustang" instead of "Fusion" on the "Fords".

About 5 years ago they went to a more manufacturer specific body with their 6th generation cars

Now that Ford has announced that they or stopping production of cars (sedans) in the U.S. except for the Mustang and the Focus crossover the Mustang is the only choice left. G.M. is not far behind so how long is it before NASCAR becomes NASTVR () and the NHRA has to bring back Pro Stock Truck or maybe they will have to have a new slogan - "Win with something that has 4 tires & a Logo on Sunday and sell SUV's & Trucks on Monday". It looks like P/S's demise may be because there is nothing to relate to by the manufactures rather than dwindling numbers by participants. It also does not look good for NASCAR.

You know, it might actually be fun to watch a NASSUV race.
Slamming SUV's into each other must be an agressive soccer mom's dream.

Would Toyota’s Highlander be required to ride up high on the wall?
Would Chevy.. ah.. Traverse the 500 miles first?
Of course we know Ford would have the… Edge.

Anyone remember NHRA's April Fools stunt several years ago where they announced Pro/SUV. I think this might have been the year following their killing off PS/T.
