Another Legend gone.

One of my favorite stories from Tom was when he said that Bill Shultz takes a limo from the pits to the starting line at the Gators when Bill was tuning for him. Correct if my memory is wrong on this.

Only had the honor of meeting Goose once, but he left an amazing impression on me. I've always held a special place in my fandom for the man who I believe elevated drag racing marketing to what it has become today.

Rest in Peace Goo$e.

Although he did not have great success at winning races, he was a pioneer in marketing himself, and the sport; as necessary to procure sponsorships and financial backing before it was commonplace. Rest In Peace to the Mongoose.

Just spent a few minutes with him at Pomona. We talked about his match racing days in the east coast, Laughed at a few stories and bought some posters from him. I have them up in my office. Yep..we're losing the pioneers and I'm not any younger either. Not like that young whipper snapper Charlet or Eugene Gray. Both still wet behind their ears.
