when u think about it, other than the 'word play' what's the actual difference between a pro class and a non pro class. TAD/TAFC vs. Pro bike for example. They have the exact same format (all out racing/quickest 16 race/their only scheduled for about 2/3 of the schedule) in other words, what's the distinction between 'pro vs. sportsman'

I'm pretty sure Erica raced in Super Gas at the Houston race.

The distinction is fairly simple. If at the end of the day you get a check from Mello Yello then you are a pro racer. If you get a check from Lucas Oil you are a sportsman racer. You can look at it as the Mello Yello Series, the Lucas Oil Series, and the Pro Mod Series all share the same track on the same weekend, but have nothing to do with each other.

The Pro show gets prime time on the track, prime promotion, prime press and prime purse… because the Pro show* is the reason spectators pay $$ for a ticket and why the sponsors pay $$$$ for advertising time and/or space.

The power of the Pro show is why the other classes get little from NHRA in promotion and press as anything they get would be taking it away from NHRA's Pro show.

You guys may be right on this. If so, depending on what grade level she's at and there's still openings then she'll get in. Currently, registration is only open to Grade 8 and 7 for Gainesville.

Grade 6 opens 1/17
Grade 5 1/24
Grade 4 1/31
Grade 3 2/7
Grade 2 2/14
Grade 1 2/21

The ones with the highest grade points get the option to enter first. If the entry quota is filled by the time they get to grade 4, too bad for everyone else then, you didn't make the cut.

Think of it like boarding an airplane. Certain tickets get to go first.

So on jan 31, 2018 if the Class, in this case promod, is not filled and you have 4 grade points you can register for the event.

If you only have 2 grade points you have to wait till February 14, 2018 and hope it does not fill up before that.
