Thumbs up

Good old WJ... One of drag racing's most quote worthy racers, with statements that are to the point and said with intelligence.

"Drag racing is the perfect compliment to the wide variety of motorsports entertainment already on the schedule here at Lowe's Motor Speedway.... Plus, there is just something special about a race car with 7,000 horsepower."

"That was the quickest run for an S&S V-Twin, and to me, that's what's important. I'd like to see either of those guys (H-D's Krawiec & Hines) make a run like that on anything other than a Harley. Put Eddie on a Suzuki or an S&S Buell and let's see if his fat ass wins even one race. I don't see it happening."

George Bryce

"I feel like I'm a better rider than anyone George has on his team. I feel like I make cleaner runs than anyone he's got. You see riders who buckle under pressure; that doesn't happen to me very often. His riders choke in non-pressure situations, and that's not the bike."

Eddie Krawiec in response to Bryce

"The biggest problem in the culture today is that theyíre taking shop classes out of schools. When we graduated we wanted to buy a í69 Camaro and fix it up. Today when kids graduate, they want to buy a 2016 Camaro. Itís not about building something; itís about acquiring something."

He's right.....

Being creative today means developing an "app".

Willy's post reminded me of this one:

"And now for my next act I'm going to set myself on fire."

-Craig Breedlove after climbing out of the cockpit of Spirit of America after setting the new land speed record at 526.277 but then subsequently lost its parachutes, skidded five miles through a row of telephone poles landing in a brine pond at roughly 200 mph. October 15, 1964 He was wet but uninjured.
