Default HDP deal on the brink of disaster?

Oooops... something is wrong.

There is probably time for Compton to take back all those expensive Christmas gifts he bought.

I find it interesting that so many different web sites scoop these stories and rumors. Just like the Evan Knoll "Response Letter".

With Burk's recent record of being on the wrong side of rumors, I'll wait before I buy a new suit for the funeral. On the other hand, there is nothing but bad karma coming out of Glendora lately.

My only thing is this: It's very late in the process for HDP to bail out. And what about their charter? They were just under the wire announcing this deal. Remember, had they not found something to buy, they would have had to give the money back to their investors. With all of the expenses they have incurred in this deal already, I just can't see them giving the money back.

Right before Pomona HDP is meeting. I suspect everything is fine.

Everything except the hard working racers, who are probally going to end up with POS NHRA to race in.

I saw on another message board where our moderator (Bobby) mentioned ...

"What Tom Compton actually said is the economy has left the deal in a lerch. That's what he said today during the press conference."

Bobby, can you please comment on this and what all was said on the conference?

I can't say i'm disappointed if the sale doesn't go through. I would much rather the NHRA be sold to someone who actually has a stake and love for drag racing. In my opinion Bruton Smith would be that person.

"With Burk's recent record of being on the wrong side of rumors"

I do believe Burk scooped CP on the Knoll story.

At this point in time, you have something better?

There is nothing better, what I am saying winning purses are a joke now, If HD needs to show good ROI to the investors it sure will not help the teams.
