Default 2014 Diecast

From JFR FB:

Maybe the pic is at a weird angle, but the canopy looks way out of scale, too tall, and the resulting windshield rake doesn't look right at all:

Also looks like the same old front wheels and was hoping for an upgraded engine area, but it still looks toy-like.
Not a very good beginning to 2014. Almost a year in and her 2013 car finally comes out.

For comparison, here's Ledbetter's canopy cars. Much nicer and more accurate:

The Force car looks bad. Canopy is too tall, and they have four butterflies which is dumb. I was going to get it, but now I'm not sure.

Danbury Mint discontinues die-cast car line after its factories shut down
Daniel Strohl Apr 9th

Up against an industry-wide trend of rising costs and difficulties dealing with overseas factories, Danbury Mint – the company best known among gearheads for its high-quality, 1:24 scale, shelf-topping classic cars – has exited the die-cast car business.

As a collector of their pieces from Day 1 (the 1935 Duesenberg SSJ Speedster in 1987), to their last new tool (the 1935 Ford Deluxe Coupe) I was very disappointed when I received the letter that that was it. Danbury truly advanced the state of the art.

My wife, well she did her best to hide the grin, but.....

Only 20 bucks. Not bad looking for a modern 1/18 body to use for model projects:

The John Force car should be a hot sell this year because of the last year with Castrol. I noticed that Auto World only made 504 of the Hagan and Johnson Jr. cars. Usually they are at 750. I think it's a great move, keep the value high.
