Default What about a Competitive Ford in Pro Stock !

I know there must still be some Ford fans out there that would love to see a Ford again in Pro Stock. I know that Robert Patrick and others do well in IHRA but how about NHRA? When Scott Geoffrion was racing Hurley Blakeny's Escort they did pretty well. I know that at that time Bob Panella was building there engines. I asked Scott at Seattle if they got any help from Ford and responded "absoultely nothing". They would not even help out with blocks. They were pretty low buck but ran good. The only other Ford I knew of was the lotto winner Jim Cunningham and I asked him the same question a couple years ago and again same answer. No help from Ford. Scott said that all Ford drag racing dollars went to John Force Racing and he is not getting into Pro Stock. If anyone knows of a way to email someone at Ford maybe we could get something going for someone out there. It is nice to see great competition from Mopar and GM but Ford needs to be in there also. Just wondering if anyone else out there thinks the same thing. Thanks, Brian

Ford knows what's going on and apparently isn't interested. They could care less if a few or a few thousand guys sent them email.

Isn't going to happen, especially with the trouble Ford's in financially.

This doesn't explain the fact why thier messing with Nitro Motors though

It would seem feasable to have a competitive engine program with a corporate cash infusion to a Panella or Kaase

I just saw in the news where Ford is laying off 10,000 & trying to buy out others with a 1 time payout of 35k to 100k depending how long they have worked for Ford.. if they are THAT bad of shape.. they aint gonna spend an extra 1 or 2 mil for a Pro Stock...

Panella and Iaconio had qualifying Ford power in NHRA trim. Going with the Blue Oval is just making it harder on yourself. It is a bad business plan to choose to be at a disadvantage. . It’s hard enough to keep up as it is

I'm hoping Jack Roush gets back into PS. He certainly could pull it all together, Ford, sponsors, drivers, etc. Maybe a 4-dr PS Fusion 'Taxi'. LOL A Ford powered JFR funny and a Ford Roush PS would be the bomb. We'll see.

Question

Didn't they develop a new ford motor that would work in P/S but nhra wouldn't ok it?
Something to due with bore spacings or something like that.

Seems to me thier much more than a "accociate sponsor", with access to a wind tunnel in Mustang Body developement (Tasca is the only other with acess to the 05 Mustang body with help from Force), Courtney and Brittany driving "Ford" Powered Super Comp Cars, (I watched first round at Indy in SC and could'nt identify a Ford Powered SC), finally - I've been hearing FORD before Castrol in John's interviews lately?

I'm a Ford fan but if I ever had the $$$$ to move up to Pro-Stock it would be foolish financially to re-invent the wheel, Which unfortanetly is now GM and Mopar.

Now.... If NHRA went back to small blocks that's another story... 5 years ago I bought a bunch of used NASCAR stuff and put together a 357" motor that Dynoed at 752 HP with a 950 Holley and a Nitrous cam and that technology was a few years old when I got it (Yates heads & Intake)

Ford is very competitive in the Small Block Arena (NMRA)

Whoops - gotta get back to work

FFB: Roush had trouble making HP in NASCAR until teaming with Yates. Perhaps he could put an overall deal together using another engine-builder.

I have a feeling the next car maker to enter pro stock will have to be from farther East, Far East that is! This will no doubt occur at the same time you will tune the car by laptop.
