Would be great to see him back. I've always like Larry. I wonder who he recruit for his CC. Wouldn't it be great if it was Alan Johnson?
I like hpw he went and made $30K last weekend making three 1/8th miles passes while it takes siz - 1,000' passes to win $15K ($2,500 per pass) at an NHRA event....IF there's a full field and you win. And that's still $3750 per pass better than making 8 passes for the old $50K purse. Larry's not dumb. Last I knew, he owned commercial rentals in the Nitro Alley area.
"Legal fees? He needed a lawyer to tell NHRA it's not illegal to have an expreiedcert tag on a car until it runs down a NHRA track? He'd have a good argument for a libe lor defamation suit against NHRA for their harming his ability to secure a sponsorship."
Maybe that's what part of his suite is against the NHRA ?
That is true and I brought that up with my son, he said maybe it was between the Sheik and Larry and not Alan and Larry. I said maybe, but it would be cool if teamed back up
The rule as existing is IHRA accepts NHRA crossovers but I don't believe NHRA accepts IHRA crossovers because they don't exist, so how can he be licensed to come back without having to go thru the licenses of NHRA?
IHRA still exists and you can still renew/apply for a license with them. Australia's entire drag racing community operates under the IHRA umbrella as well. Dixon has raced there too.
To be eligible for a crossover application for an NHRA License and Competition Number registration, the following information must be included and completed in full:
Completed NHRA Application For Driver’s Medical Certificate o NHRA Minor Waiver (MS-N) required for applicants under 18 years of age. All NHRA competition license applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Copy of current AHDRA, AMA ProStar, IHRA, or VRA/Goodguys license.
Two (2) full-pass time slips in class for which you seek a license within the past 12 months at any facility or event (side-by-side time trials or elimination time slips accepted). 1. TIME SLIP E.T. _______________ MPH: ____________
"There’s something cool about running a nitro car at night. Maybe it reminds me of growing up watching my dad race at #Lions, #Irwindale or #OrangeCounty? Maybe it reminds me of current match race events at #Martin, #Cordova or #Norwalk? Can’t understand why they don’t run any big show events with a Friday night qualifying/Saturday night race format. Nitro cars at night are the only ones that put on their own show with 15’ flames out the exhaust. Like it should almost be illegal to run during the day. No other motorsport can hang. Our sport needs to take advantage of the things only we can offer. Martin, Cordova, Norwalk, #Eddyville get it. Maybe others will follow. Maybe. Hopefully.
This run was from Saturday night at #MemphisInternationalRaceway. We had 3 rides sold and another person signed up so we added another run at the end of the night. Wish it wasn’t so late because it was a great run. Another extremely satisfied customer.
Special thanks to Jack Wyatt, Nick Peters, Doug Bradley, Tim Jackson, Brian De Roos and #NitroX2 regulars Tommy Douglas and Chuck Akers for knocking out 4 runs in a day.

NHRA needs Larry back in somehow. My favorite driver in TF.
NHRA needs anyone that can even resemble a T/F racer at the gate
I agree HotRod.

I hope we hear who the team / sponsors are soon that are backing him. This is going to be like the resurrection !
I would love it if him and Alan Johnson teamed back up. I know he is with Salinas, just like to see them pair back up.
look up the link I posted above, But read it well because you only get to open the page one, second time it's blurred becaused it paywalled.
Or Jason McCulloch.
I could be wrong, but I could have swore when Larry left Alan's team it wasn't on the best of terms.

what the heck was that ^ ?

Also if you have a case in litigation against NHRA I don't believe you can compete in NHRA until the cases are resolved.
