Like Bobby said, the Forum have been down on comments and new topics....
So let's get the rumors started for what's going on behind the scene with who is going where, and who is doing what....
Any updates on Audrey Worm? Strutmasters sponsored her for short time until she became sidelined and started the quest to build her own car and team. It's great to see Strutmasters sponsor Lex Joon and allow him to make the races recently!
Was Vizio the company that backed out of the Alan Johnson deal at the last minute? If so, why?
Is the Surfer done or just waiting for the west coast races?
Pro charger will not be allowed in NHRA PM because the influence over the class by one racer.
Johnny West was asked by the NHRA to help Terry Haddock per The Agent
NHRA is still looking at going 1/4 mile nitro racing next year per The Agent. The new chairman of the board really wants this.
Were the high profile racers that recently stepped away afraid of the car like Whit admitted to?
Did Alexis finally leave that POS? Sure seems like it via social media.
Is there "something" behind the sudden retirement of Dallas Gardner after 46 years service and the immediate assumption of the position by Peter Clifford?
Mossyback asks, "Is there "something" behind the sudden retirement of Dallas Gardner after 46 years service?"
Taking a wild guess, at 46 years and certainly up there in years, he's decided to retire. And I'm also guessing this has been in the works.
Audrey Worm chasing the dream update: https://thecapitalsportsreport.com/2019/10/22/worm-purchases-top-fuel-dragster-texas/?fbclid=IwAR3R0co8A8rgBpyOCusVfZt4P6Ibnuj_BA8Yi1rz5BogTCOuK-W3exKfgcU
Wishing good luck to Audrey.
The first 300 half track is either this year or next.
Heard the interview on WFO with Richie Stevens and no question or mention of his hi profile wife. Why? Are they not married? Can't we ask?
If 8 races do go to 1/4 mile, the owners of the other 16 tracks will not be happy. There will be a percentage of ticket buyers that will bypass their closer 1000’ nat’l. event track to attend a 1/4 mile race further away.
My guess is that the single car and the lower funded teams also won’t be happy as they would need additional cars/parts plus data on both distances to be competitive.
The DSR, JFR and CKR get enough data from their multi car teams to have a distinct advantage over single car teams now. With two different length tracks that just adds to their advantage. (RUMOR: Maybe that’s who is pushing for the change.)
If 1320 racing does return, it will be interesting to see how NHRA sets the rules. Will they be identical for both 1320’ & 1000’? That may drop 1000’ track speeds below 300 if they adjust rules where 1320’ results in 320 mph. Over 320 in the 1320’ makes safely stopping a issue again. If it’s different rules for different lengths, the cost to teams will go up.
My guess is they probably wish they had never brought the subject up.
zero quarter mile in 2020, was going to be three then to one, then to none
I know of about 10 - 12 teams which will skip quarter-mile race
When they bring the 1320 back to Sonoma I will return to the stands. the Friday Night Qualifying in Sonoma at 1320 will be spectacular. The stands will be packed all weekend in Sonoma.
I woulda wanted to see it happen but that horse left the barn a long time ago
ANY WORD ON VINCENT NOBILE ON A RETURN TO PRO STOCK NEXT YEAR
Which 3 were they going to give it a shot at?
Your choice of course, but hopefully you're not saying you've boycotted NHRA national events for the past 11 years on account of 1000' fuel racing. If you can't get excited about pair after pair of funny cars throwing 10-foot flames in the air and blowing through the traps at 500 feet per second on a Friday night, like I just witnessed in Dallas - well, there's always Keeping Up With The Kardashians on the tube somewhere. And Sonoma may indeed be packed all weekend, but it won't be on account of a potential return to 1/4 mile nitro racing. Other than a handful of hardcore old school holdouts, fans don't even think about it.
As to a couple of rumors..... as far as I can tell, Jesse James and DeJoria are still together; so are Erica and Richie...she apparently decided to drop the double last name which I highly approve of. NO, we won't see a TAD 4 second pass but I'd say we WILL see a 300mph 1/8 mile pass. 299 has already been reached, twice. Hight ran 294 to the 660' on his 339.87 pass at Brainerd a couple of years ago.
Pretty sure EE and Stevens arent togther anymore
LOL Id call their bluff,Those teams wouldnt sit out due to cships. Sounds like a bunch of cry babies. 1/4 mile is the way to go
Heard a rumor here in Famoso yesterday, A BIG change for a top fuel pilot next year!
ANTRON TO TORRANCE?
Sworn to secrecy!
Brandon bald head Bernstein ever gonna drive
Thats my guess
Isnt kenny bald? Wears a piece?
And it sounds like Tony have something in the works....
Tony needs to get back out there. He would be a good addition
A gentleman and a scholar. And older then me. I was still playing with those hot wheel cars!
Neff to Tasca for multiple years? Where does this leave Tony now?
