Tip: Don't use model pinstriping because 20 years later it starts to move... and remove. I could pull the black off the model now in about 10 seconds, lol.
Reminds me of the MPC Model Car Contests that were run in conjunction with ISCA/Rod & Custom/World of Wheels car shows into the mid 1970's. Your model car entry got you free admission to the show on Friday or Saturday. You received a free ticket for Sunday to retrieve your entry, and trophy, if you were judged worthy.....
Detroit Autorama stll has a model contest every year.
The local "Hobby Center" had a yearly contest. In the one class it was always either me or some "jerk" named John XXXXX that won. Never knew who he was until High School. We've been good friends since.
