Good grief. I mean how hard is it to post results from the tower?
FYI The Pro Mod Final from Indy 2 Scruggs vs Green will be run this weekend too!

The Final between Ashley and Zizzo set for 3rd Qualifier as well!!
Spectator count up to 50%! Yay!
Actually - more difficult and complicated than you'd think. Cameron was shut off prior to staging - but - his car was already assigned in the lane. Under normal circumstances, if there are two numbers in the system (one in each lane) - one breaks prior to staging and the other one makes a lap, you simply press the F8 button, to "BREAK" the car that didn't run.
On that particular run, the car in the other lane - Kyle W. launched and broke prior to finishing the run. So, to clear the computer and to register a NT (no time) - they have to press F8 - which advances the car that took the tree - and auto defaults the other car as a 0.000 ET.
The normal solution is to get back into the computer (after the session) with the Qualifying Editor - and remove the 0.000 run from the system prior to printing results. The error was corrected shortly after this first Qual Sheet was posted.
Having done this job, I can tell you it's not as simple as everyone thinks.
Both web pages still haven't been revised thus the entire ladder is still messed up.
btw, Roger doing a burnout!
The ladder is irrelevant until final qualifying has been completed....I really think this is a glitch in their auto posting technology - vs a "mess-up". The official qualifying order after Q-1 is posted here.
I was talking about a simple qualifying list that can be posted within 30 minutes of the completed session. One person with paper and pencil could accomplish that. If we want our sport to get more media attention we have to be able to deliver the results in a timely organized fashion AND not make people search around to different sites trying to find updates. I'm a huge supporter of NHRA but their website has always been grossly lacking in efficiency and accuracy. I had hoped with the newer version in recent years it would improve. Tim, I don't doubt the work going into behind the scenes in the tower. But there's been a need for improvement even before covid layoffs. They could screenshot the broadcast numbers and post that even! LOL
I guess it's irrelevant until Sat. gets rained out or Cameron doesn't get down the track today. Besides, I always like to see how they fall/shuffle after the Q sessions. Especially at the end of the year when the points are tight.
If it is a "glitch", then you got to love the 2020 technology they use when apparently they can't, or wont even fix an obvious 24hr old discrepancy of a high profile pro class. I think it's called professionalism. This kind of fix can be done remotely at the hotel, at the software owners tech support (if there is one), or at their Glendora mansions if they really knew how and wanted to.
After Q2 and he's still #1 after posting a 4.01... Yahoo!
Ohhhh darn it! Scruggs out in front but engine goes silent. Shoot! Was hoping for their first win.
Mike Janis for the win hopefully
Zizzo ran a 3.76 in qualifying but couldn't get into the 3's for his Indy2 final. Oh well, he still has Sunday to get one.
Even with the loss, I think he just bumped Brittany out of the top 10.

Two PM crashes Dang it!!! I can’t get logged on the stream. Hope they’re okay!
From Rebilas FB page:
"NHRA pro mod driver Chris Thorne uninjured after suffering high speed crash after his parachutes failed to deploy after his round one victory over the number one qualifier during the US Nationals. He said it was “one of the softest crashes of his career.” If that’s a soft crash I’d hate to see one of the big ones! 😱 — at Lucas Oil Raceway."
"Using a big lens like a 600mm has its benefits but sometimes it can be a bit too much, case in point this big Steve Matusek flip directly in front of me during round one eliminations of the US Nationals. While the big lens is great for 90% of the track, its too close for the 10% in front of me. Most of these photos are completely uncropped. Thankfully Steve was uninjured in the wild crash! 🙌🏼"
John Force on TV:
"I want to congratulate the racers, lets keep it alive out there so I can have a job again and my children"
Again proves how safe these cars are given how bad the crashes look and driver walks away.
Looks like Ashley on a roll today. He's gonna move up big time in points.
Make no mistake, any incident where the car is airborne/flipped is very bad. Difficult to see those driver errors. That was a brand new car and sponsor for Matusek. Better to lift and race another day. Thorne's - you CAN NOT touch the brakes like that in a PM. Very glad both were uninjured. Hate to see good cars get tore up. Got to keep your head even at the US Nationals, not worth it. Ugh :(
Ashley and team are on point! I believe they will win again this year.
Did ya see? I watched about 45 mins of the event. I saw quite a few pro mods with Trump stickers on the rear fender well. The announcers described the Factory Showdown cars as what PS was supposed to be.
I heard that too. I thought Tony said "used to be" instead of "supposed to be".
In any case, it made me think they are treating the Factory Showdown as a vintage pro stock class.
He got a lot of attention for jos sponsor though. I hope the deal is lucrative enough to offset fixing the car!
Mello Yello Points Standing after US Nationals
Round by Round Results
"The NHRA’s Mello Yello Drag Racing Series returned to action with its signature event, the U.S. Nationals at Indianapolis — with the finals running on Sunday rather than Labor Day Monday. The live coverage on FOX averaged 0.48 and 814,000 viewers, compared with 0.62/950,000 on the Monday last year."
