Oh boy... I hope there is a plan in the works incase of a malfunction.
During the playoffs... I cant post what I am thinking about that...
One thing that seems to not be talked about-FOUR pro qualifying sessions at the Motorplex. Pretty sure this is first time since before Covid hit.
More on that here:
Nitro Show Kicks Off Stampede Action:
^^^ Great read! Lots of awesome racing and pics!
Could this pre national event show become long term. Not only at this race but other national events. I know precovid some races had an event happen downtown in the city there in, but could we seen these grudge/shootout races happen on Thursday nights.
Any results posted from today’s test and tune?
No fans in the stands. Obviously not reliant on ticket sales to pay those purses.
I believe that it is Billy Meyer who is the vision and the creator behind the amazing agenda for this race. My opinion is that he sees that the NHRA is not going down a sustainable road. I also believe that it is his resources that are behind this amazing upcoming weekend.
I suspect that this will be the race to attend for this season. One must wonder what the NHRA will do after this Texas race is behind them.
Y'all goin to get some heat this weekend.
Next weekend looks to be almost 20° cooler.

Backstory on the Plex:
Right around the same time this track was built, Kalitta wanted to build a similar one just south of Detroit... but couldn't get past "not in my backyard".
Live timing on NHRA.com shows Antron and Laughlin are up next. And the last pair of cars went down the track at 21:19:53 And DRC shows no T/F results yet.
Did Baldwin or Morrison were last down the track... did one of them crash? Or is there rain?
Joe detonated his engine at 500' - but they got back to running about 40 minutes later. Britt ran a .63...
Yeah I read that. Seemed like it was over an hour. Still, 40 min..... must have quite the explosion. I'm sure we;ll all be seeing pics of his misfortune some time today.
22 days until Halloween...
Thought coverage of Friday night Stampede on NHRA.tv was terrible even though a lot was NHRA and Billy Meyer that caused most of it. Wes Buck was pretty good but the other guy was not. He was mispronouncing names and calling Angelle Angie. I think he even thought she was Matt's wife. LOL. They delayed each run for some some reason and showing the people sitting on the saddle took extra time. The track prep takes extra time and that is normal and I know and understand that. Then, the clown wasn't funny and was very demeaning towards women. Kept watching until politician came on. I do not pay for political grandstanding on NHRA.tv and was very disappointed by that so I turned off the tv. I watched it fast forward on NHRA.tv yesterday morning. Much better. I would have really been upset had I went to the event and had to sit there through all of this.
Hight, B Force Among Top Qualifiers:
Bobby Bennett posted a video on Facebook of the line to get into the track. It's over a mile long! Hopefully a good spectator turnout today.
Great to see FOUR quals!! As it should be.
Salinas #3 in TF and #4 in Pro Mod. Nice work for those teams!
They actually blew the valve cover off the left side of the engine - which made the explosion look worse than it was. That caused a TON of oil to blow onto the track.
Bad lights hurting drivers in the hunt for the championship.
